Martin Hu has 22 years of extensive experience in the areas of M&A, Foreign Investment and Corporate Dispute Resolution. He has advised a number of remarkable projects and cases in M&A and capital market. For instance, he advised STR Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: STRI), a worldwide leading company in the field of new energy, on its sales of shares of common stock, representing its 51% interests, to Zhenfa Energy Group. This project is one of the few successful projects in which a Chinese company acquired a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Following the “Shuanghui Case”, it is also the first case in which a Chinese private company acquired and obtained the controlling stock in the company listed on the world's largest stock exchange. Moreover, Martin acted as the counsel of P&G, a Fortune 500 company, and advised on its purchase of Gillette Shanghai Limited, which involved many complicated transactions such as Sino-foreign joint venture transaction and state-owned property transaction. This deal set valuable example for the equity transfer of state-owned enterprises.
